Oakland A’s Root Beer Float Day

Join the A’s for the 16th Annual Root Beer Float Day on Wednesday, July 22. Current and former Oakland A’s players, local celebrities, and various Bay Area radio and television personalities will be on hand to serve Root Beer Floats in the Eastside Club. Former A’s players scheduled to pour root beer floats are Vida Blue, Bobby Crosby, Mark Ellis, Terrence Long, and Tony Phillips. Celebrities scheduled to attend include NFL Hall of Famer and Pac-12 Network broadcaster Ronnie Lott, Olympic Figure Skater and San Jose native Polina Edmunds, MLB Network Studio & Intentional Talk Host Chris Rose, and 2015 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors Dance Team.

Entrance to Root Beer Float Day is free with a paid ticket to the game. 16 oz mugs are $3 each and root beer floats are served for $2 each. A limited number of 32 oz autographed mugs that include unlimited floats are $25, while a non-autographed version is $15. Sugar-free floats will also be available.

Since 2003, the A’s have raised over $414,000 for the JDRF through this event.

Stadium gates will open early at 5:05 p.m. to accommodate this event. Special thanks to Dreyer’s for donating the ice cream and Zevia and Whole Foods Market for donating the root beer.

I’m planning on going to an A’s game, and they are not even playing the New York Yankees. This probably means they will lose. I rooted for them once in 1977 against Baltimore and they gave up like 7 straight singles in the first inning and lost the game.

This is about root beer though. Root Beer festivals are pretty rare and a root beer float day as well? That’s hard to beat!
